Shelby Irey was recently featured in Revved Magazine as one of their babes of the month. The Los Angeles based beauty has extensive experience in print work, film, fitness, spokesmodeling, runway and dance. In addition to being a model, Shelby is also a personal trainer whose goal is to motivate people to live a healthy lifestyle. Not only is she beautiful, but she is also a very caring and inspiring individual. In 2007, Shelby created a non-profit organization called ‘Building Bridges’ to build relationships between youth and their communities to ease racial and cultural tension. She has partnered with Beauties and Athletes Against Bullying and together they travel and speak at schools, grades K-12, The Boys and Girls Club of America, and other organizations to help create support groups and stop bullying through team building activities, sharing stories and much more.

Originally from Eastern Canada, Sarah is currently based in Vancouver. She has been drawing and sculpting for a long time. Sarah is definitely a well-rounded artist who thrives on being creative. According to Vancity Buzz, she is “a 2D/3D freelance graphic artist during the week and a thrill-seeker during the all-important weekend, including, but not limited to, exotic dancing, nude modelling, obstacle-course racing, outdoor paintball, wilderness hiking, and pretty much any zombie-themed activity.” We look forward to seeing more of her published work.

Andreja Pejic becomes first transgender model on Marie Claire cover

Andreja Pejic is going where no other transgender model has ever gone before. According to this Times Live article, she became “the first transgender model to land a fashion magazine cover with Marie Claire Spain. Prior to her gender re-assignment surgery, Andreja graced the cover of Elle Serbia and she’s been seen on catwalks and in editorials all over the world. In addition to her accomplishments as a print and runway model, Andreja is also a spokesmodel for Make Up For Ever. We are very excited to see how diverse the fashion industry is becoming.

From Bread Seller to Model

This CNN article tells an amazing story of a young, poverty-stricken bread seller in Nigeria whose life literally changed forever in a split second. Prior to accidentally photobombing a shoot, Jumoke Orisaguna had no idea what was going to happen and was oblivious to the fact that her life will be taking a positive turn. When she was selling bread in Lagos, Nigeria, she would work many hours a day only to make less than $1 in profit. Jumoke struggled to make ends meet and we are super happy to see her succeeding. She is currently signed with an agency and has already landed a contract. Now, her children won’t have to suffer through poverty. It truly is a heart-warming story.

Kris Krieg wins the Vision Award at Shutterfest competition

Accomplished photographer Kris Krieg and his creative team won the Vision Award in the creative fashion category at this year’s Shutterfest Image Competition held in St. Louis, Missouri. Their winning photo Emma Spots has been printed in the May issue of Shutter Magazine, the competition’s affiliated publication. To create the shot, experienced model Emma Anne and the photographer selected a wardrobe piece that is provocative, but also visually intriguing. Skilled makeup artist, Connie Downs, chose a subdued color palette that allowed the wardrobe to be the center of attention. While renowned hair stylist, Jorge Buccio, fashioned Emma’s hair with classical inspirations. The talents of each team member are evident in this beautifully crafted photograph.

Wardrobe stylist Shelle oReagan’s work was recently featured in Surreal Beauty Magazine. She was part of an outstanding editorial team consisting of model Colette from Kennedy Management, photographer Kelsey Campion and makeup artist Krysten Perkins. This is definitely not the first time that Shelle and her team have had their work published. She is a very experienced wardrobe stylist and has styled multi-model shoots with themes ranging from a painterly take on the seraglio to New Orleans Storyville to a contemporary twist on geisha high fashion. In addition to wardrobe styling, Shelle is also a haute couture designer and has a wide range of skills from welding to latex. She is currently focused on sustainable fashion with a small footprint. Shelle knows how to spot amazing talent and form teams that produce fantastic, magazine worthy images.

Lindsey Lamson appears on the new cover of ModelsMania Magazine. This cover is very special because it’s ModelsMania’s first ever black and white cover. Additionally, it’s the magazine’s five-year anniversary issue. The cover is the result of Lindsey’s work with very talented and highly published photographer Karl Yamashita. Lindsey is a professional model based in San Diego, California. On her Model Mayhem profile, she states that she loves what she does. Lindsey’s modeling experience includes catalogue, glamour, fitness, runway, fashion and swimwear. She has been featured in numerous magazines. Additionally, Lindsey has a huge fan base which is constantly growing. We are sure that it’s only a matter of time before we see her on another cover.

Chris V Linton’s photography is featured in Vigorous Magazine. He is quickly becoming a well-known name in the MM News Roundups. Chris’ work for a completely different publication was also seen in last week’s MM Modeling News Roundup. He is a very successful fitness, glamour, sports and event photographer based in Toronto. Chris has a great attitude and work ethic. We are extremely happy to see him doing well and even happier to know that he appreciates everything that he has been able to achieve.

Christie Jay was recently seen in Red Hot Vegas Magazine. She is a beautiful alternative model based in Las Vegas, Nevada. Christie has a beautiful look and her tattoos are very artistic. Although she primarily specializes in alternative modeling because of her tattoos, she is open to other genres that will allow her to continue exploring her creative side. Christie likes to make sure the photographer’s vision is captured when shooting. We look forward to seeing more of her work in magazines.
